Aurora City Place Tower

Description

Well its almost been a year, but I said I would do it, and here it is... a new shot of the Aurora City Place Tower / Fountian. Little did I know a year ago, but I would be working right here at the base of this tower (its right outside my store's front door). I shot this while leaving work this afternoon, around 5:15pm MST.

You can find my old shot here. Considering the conditions I took the last one, I feel it came out pretty well, but my camera then was lacking... this was taken with my XT and I think it worked a bit better...

Ill go as far as to say this was partly planned, but not properly executed... I did move around to find the best vantage point, but I skipped a few steps in setting up my camera... thus it didnt come out as it should, HOWEVER, with that being said, I would classifiy this under the category of "Happy Accidents" as the colors of the sky and the building completely floored me when I hit that little review button to see what I took (I turned off auro review... dont use it).

The colors you see are straight out of the camera... Shot in Raw, Processed in Adobe Lightroom (tweaked the contrast slightly, but mostly reduced noise as it was shot at ISO 1600 F5.6 1/30th shutter). Did a slight bit of cloning to remove some imperfections in the clouds, but otherwise this is what was shot.

I still want to get a dead of night shot (black sky, white lights, etc) to compliment my previous shot, but I like this one here. Constructive Comments and Critique welcome.

It is a wonderful shot. I respect anyone who can capture a great night shot. Seeing buildings lit at night like this always reminds me of the castle in Cinderella, all lit up with multicolors for the ball. =] Great Job!
