Ok, so my watchers may have noticed the steady influx of images I have been uploading for my Star Wars Project (which is what I am now calling my Imperial Smuggler Graphic Novel as it is evolving as I progress.) I have decided that if I am going to do the art for this graphic novel project, that I should probably start to model the characters myself. Considering I am not that great at character modeling, This is very daunting to me. But I think it would yield the best results. I am really starting to take a liking to the Star Wars Clone Wars style of characters. At first I thought the style was too over the top and goofy looking as I prefer photorealistic character modeling like we find in many video games nowadays, but the more and more I see their models the more I think they nailed the style. The environment and vehicles around them still look very much realistic, in fact it looks almost exactly like the films, but the stylized characters really add something to the animations. This should also allow me to use some liberties and imagination when creating my characters. I still have a library of images that I will be submitting up here shortly, mostly buildings and a few Ships & speeders, we'll see.
Well I titled this journal "Few Steps to Freedom" because this is my final term in school. I put together a webpage of my portfolio images,
www.joepapasso.com. I am currently taking a few classes this term that I already took, but had to drop due to family issues. In a few weeks I will be jumping into my job hunt mode full time. I've already sent out a few resumes and portfolios, but Im not 100% focused yet. My goal is to find a studio somewhere on the east coast that is looking for a 3D modeler. But until then my focus will be on my school and my Star Wars project.
I want to take this time to let all my watchers know that I appreciate all the favorites I have recieved. I dont always get around to checking my activity messages, and I can bearly keep my watched deviations under 9k, but I do appreciate all the favorites from you guys! While everyone is in a favoriting mood, I want to send you over to ~
KMAP3156. She has just recieved a rather impressive honor. She has had some work displayed in the A.E. Backus Gallery in Ft. Pierce, FL, and aparently some of her paintings were selected to be displayed in a show designated "Best of the Best" after a juried art competition at the gallery. We'll see what becomes of this, but it sounds pretty good!!
Until next time...
Enjoy,
Joe
